Microcross has revised its GNU-tools based visual development environment for embedded Linux development on the ARM, PowerPC, and XScale architectures, and is offering 30-day trial versions for each. Texas Instruments (TI) reveiled its new OMAP 2 processor architecture for 2.5 and 3G mobile phones at a press conference at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France today. Sharp Microelectronics says its highly integrated ARM922T-based 32-bit system-on-chip (SoC) processor, the LH7A404, is now available in production quantities. The Dillo project to build a small, fast, lightweight, standards-compliant embeddable Web browser has released a new version with “the largest set of improvements, ever,” according to project founder Jorge Cid.
