GNU tools based IDE for XScale, PowerPC, ARM revised

Feb 23, 2004 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 3 views

Microcross has revised its GNU-tools based visual development environment for embedded Linux development on the ARM, PowerPC, and XScale architectures, and is offering 30-day trial versions for each. Visual GNU X-Tools 3.0 is a fairly inexpensive toolsuite that supports more than 20 platforms.

Visual GNU X-Tools, originally released in January, 2003, is based on the Visual SlickEdit code editor, along with “high optimizing” cross-compilers, a visual GNU debugger, and Instruction Set Simulators that emulate various hardware platforms. The toolsuite also includes a project manager, “diffZilla” text comparison tool, assembler, linker, librarian, and other utilities.
