Via has released a software development kit (SDK) to help x86 developers use the random number generator and cryptographic engine built into newer Via/Centaur processors. E28 has launched its latest Linux smartphone in the Hong Kong market. The company earlier shipped the e2800+ to customers in mainland China. The e2800+, e28's second-generation Linux handset, is a dual-band GSM/GPRS device with sophisticated camera/video features.
The PC Reviver from Asterisk replaces the hard drive in aging computers with a solid-state flash memory device that boots an embedded Linux OS.
