MontaVista expands in France and Spain
June 13, 2008MontaVista Software has signed up a value-added distributor to expand its sales and support organization in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Asia) region. Its deal with embedded supplier ANTYCIP will especialy strengthen MontaVista's presence in France and Spain, says the Silicon Valley-based vendor of Linux distributions and development tools. (more…)

Beijing-based Ingenic Seminconductor is shipping three MIPS-based SoCs (system on chips) that support Linux. The Jz4720, Jz4730, and Jz4740 target devices ranging from basic PMPs (personal media players) to smartphones, with “high performance and low power consumption,” the company says.
