Italian embedded vendor QSD Sistemi is shipping a single-board computer (SBC) that runs uClinux on a Freescale Coldfire MCF5329 system-on-chip (SoC). The Q129 board ships with a choice of 5.7- or 7-inch touchscreen displays, and provides Ethernet, USB, serial, and CAN-bus connectivity, says the company. 
AT&T is putting its weight behind netbooks using ARM processors, calling them the “next big step,” according to an article today in EE Times. The carrier has also begun selling four different subsidized netbooks (left) in Atlanta and Philadelphia, with plans to roll them out nationwide.
T-Mobile USA says it has sold more than one million Android-based G1 smartphones since the device's debut last year. The revelation came as part of an earnings announcement earlier this week by parent company Deutsche Telekom, our sister publication eWEEK.com reports.

Satel announced a “smart radio modem” for long-distance industrial radio communications networks, combining TCP/IP functionality with a Linux development platform. The Satellar Digital System is based on an ARM9 processor, offers a modular design, and has a range of over 10 to 20 kilometers, says Satel.
RMI Corp. announced the availability of a WiFi-enabled hardware/software development kit for digital picture frames (DPFs) and mobile Internet devices (MIDs). The Home Media Player (HMP) Application Development Kit (ADK) is based on RMI's MIPS-architecture Au1250 processor, and includes a Linux Board Support Package (BSP).

The EPS-910 offers an Intel Celeron M clocked at 600MHz, 1GB SDRAM, dual gigabit Ethernet ports, plus ample USB and serial connectivity, the company says.
