Acunia announces Wonka VM release 0.8
Jan 22, 2002 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 1 viewsACUNIA has announced Release 0.8 of Wonka, an open source embedded JVM and class library. Specific differences from version 0.7.x are detailed on the Wonka website.
Chris Gray, ACUNIA VM Architect, says “with 0.8, we're seeing more and more Java applications run on Wonka with little or no porting effort: for example, the Tomcat web server seems to work fine, so expect to see Wonka running its own website in the near future. It's now possible to build Wonka in such a way that you can use it as a drop-in replacement for JDK, making it easier to integrate the X11 version into your development environment.”
Wonka is a Virtual Machine and class library for Java which was developed by ACUNIA and has been released under the GPL-compatible Wonka Public License, based on the license used by BSD.
