Apr 5, 2000 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

Today Andover.Net and ibooks.com announced the first Linux/Open Source digital bookstore at linux.ibooks.com and easily accessed through the Linux Documentation links found on Andover.Net Web sites.

The digital bookstore contains thousands of digital books for sale from premier publishers such as Coriolis, John Wiley, Sam's Sybex and Que. In addition, the site offers a number of free Linux/OpenSource resources such as 12 online digital books including the Linux Documentation Project (LDP), GNU/Linux operating system user guides and HOWTO's as well as Internet Request for Comment (RFC) documents.

Visitors to the co-branded Linux bookstore can conduct full-text searches across the entire store, preview for-sale books, add books to an on-line shopping cart and store an unlimited number of free and purchased books on a personal bookshelf hosted by ibooks.com. Users can access the books stored on their personal digital bookshelf via any standard browser-based device.
