ATI Technologies announced its commitment today to provide Rage Mobility (M and M1) to embedded device and system manufacturers for five years. ATI said it is working with distributors Arrow Electronics in the Americas and Data Display AG in Europe to ensure continued availability of its industry-recognized graphics chips for the embedded market. Additionally, ATI said it is providing embedded market customers with a migration plan between technology generations along with technical support for a wide variety of applications.

Offered in 4MB and 8MB VRAM configurations, ATI's Rage Mobility (M and M1) graphics controllers include Simultaneous Independent Dual Display, DVD Playback (8MB configurations), Video Overlay Engine, S-video/Composite Support, 64-bit 2D Bit-blit Engine, and are supported for operation under both Linux and Windows OSes, the company said.

“We know designers working on embedded systems face different demands,” said Andrew Schmied, Senior Group Manager, Embedded Display Graphics, ATI Technologies Inc.

Samples of ATI's Rage Mobility (M and M1) are immediately available through Arrow Electronics and Data Display.
