Atom-based Qseven module ships with optional SSD

Apr 19, 2011 — by Eric Brown — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 1 views

Aaeon announced a Qseven-format CPU module with an Intel Atom N450 processor as well as PCI Express, LPC, and SMBus expansion. The AQ7-LN module ships with up to 1GB of DDR2 memory and up to 4GB SSD storage, and offers dual display capability, plus SATA, gigabit Ethernet, and USB connectivity, says the company.

The AQ7-LN's low power consumption makes it well-suited for a variety of battery-operated applications up to a 12-Watt limitation, says Aaeon. The 2.75 x 2.75-inch (70 x 70mm) module uses the Qseven form-factor, expressing I/O to a carrier board via the standard golden finger connector, says the company.

The AQ7-LN adopts the 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, says Aaeon. The module offers up to 1GB of DDR2 memory, as well as an optional solid-state drive (SSD) up to 4GB, says the company.

Dual SATA interfaces are said to be supplied, as are four PCI-Express (PCIe) interfaces. Additional expansion is supported via an SMBus and LPC Bus interface, says the company.

The AQ7-LN supports dual display capability via an 18-bit, single channel LVDS interface and VGA connector, and it offers HD audio, says Aaeon. A gigabit Ethernet port is supported, as are eight USB 2.0 ports, says the company. Extended temperature support is also said to be provided.
