Bluetooth, GPRS, and Linux iPAQ [ConnectedUser]

ConnectedUser.com has an article showing how to setup a Bluetooth connection between an iPAQ PDA running Familiar Linux and a Bluetooth-enabled phone (Nokia 6310). The article then proceeds to show how to initiate a GPRS call over this connection. Full step-by-step instructions are included. Bluetooth functionality was added to the iPAQ 3850 using Socket Communication's Bluetooth Connection Kit (CompactFlash Type I card). Michael Schmidt writes . . .

“With this connection the iPAQ will have mobile Internet access to surf the web, ftp, check email, and communicate using IM applications supporting AOL and Microsoft's standards . . .”

“Note: This should also work on the Sharp Zaurus or Desktop/Laptop running Linux. There is a more complete Affix Frontend Environment (AFE) for X/GTK+ with additional Bluetooth features.”
