FSMLabs has revised its hard real-time Linux and BSD operating systems. RTLinuxPro 2.1 and RTCoreBSD 2.1 feature improved multi-OS partitioning, expanded CPU architecture and board support, and tighter integration with included development tools, the company says. (more…)

Sysgo says its commercial embedded Linux distribution now supports various ETX format SBCs (single board computers) from Kontron. The ELinOS distribution includes a configuration utility said to free developers from needing to know specific details of supported Kontron “computer-on-modules.”

Jungo is shipping a newly-ported Linux version of its hot-swap software infrastructure for CompactPCI (CPCI) systems. Go-HotSwap version 6.22 comprises development tools and libraries said to enable developers to create hot-swap aware device drivers for CPCI devices. NetSilicon will sample in November a low-cost one-chip network device SoC (system-on-chip) that will hit production in March, 2005, priced between $11 and $16 in 10K quantities. The NS9360 is based on a 200MHz ARM9 core, with an LCD controller and networking.
