FSMLabs' LNet — a POSIX API real-time networking component of its RTLinux offering — now supports both the high speed “b” version of IEEE 1394 as well as Gigabit Ethernet. VIA announced a commitment to a 5-year product lifespan for its Eden ESP processor, in order to support the lifecycle requirements of manufacturers using the chip in mobile device and embedded system designs.
