COMDEX Canada panel to answer “Why Embedded Linux?”
Jul 10, 2000 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsLineo has announced that the company's Vice President of Engineering, Kim Clark, will participate in a COMDEX Canada “Power Panel” discussion on “Why Embedded Linux?” The event takes places on Thursday, July 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Linux Business Expo featured at this week's COMDEX Canada 2000. COMDEX Canada 2000, the preeminent business-to-business IT conference, will be held in Toronto from July 12-14 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Clark join representatives from emWare, LynuxWorks, and Motorola, and Al Gillen, research manager at International Data Corporation, will act as moderator.
Clark oversees Lineo's worldwide development and engineering staff. He has an extensive background in operating system technology and leads the development of Embedix, Lineo's line of embedded Linux system software. Clark recently came to Lineo after 12 years at Novell where he worked on a number of projects including the development of the NetWare OS. Under his direction, he oversaw the development and release of Novell's award-winning NetWare operating systems (NetWare 4.x and NetWare 5.x), representing close to $1 billion in Novell's annual revenues. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University.
