EclipseCon set for early March
Jan 17, 2007 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsA technical and user conference devoted to the open-source Eclipse tools platform has announced its speakers list, extended its deadline for session proposals, and introduced an “alumni discount.” EclipseCon 2007 will take place in Santa Clara, Calif. on Mar. 5 through 8 — about a month earlier than last year.
Keynote speakers for EclipseCon 2007 will include:
- Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert
- Robert Lefkowitz (a.k.a. r0ml), a prominent software architect and systems designer, will speak on “Open Source Software”
- Dr. Herbert Thompson, an application security expert and author, will speak about security
Additionally, the event will feature about 50 tutorials, 60 long talks, and 100 short talks covering “all aspects of Eclipse technology,” organizers say. The deadline for session proposal submissions has been extended to Jan. 31 to accommodate last-minute proposals.
