eCosCentric has released an eCos development kit for a new evaluation board from KwikByte. The eCosPro Developer's Kit supports the KB9202, an inexpensive SBC (single-board computer) powered by a 180MHz ARM9 processor.

The KB9202 is powered by an Atmel AT91RM9200 SoC, which is based on an ARM9 core clocked at 180MHz. Board peripherals include Ethernet, serial ports, a two-wire (I2C) interface, memory controllers, and timers.

The eCosPro Developer's Kit for KB9202 includes a pre-built RedBoot binary image that can be used to bootstrap the target for software downloading or debugging via serial or Ethernet. The kit also includes eCosPro's Eclipse-based IDE, command-line GDB, and eCos drivers for most peripherals, with others available pending customer demand. An interrupt-safe Flash driver allows the use of JFFS2 with eCosPro, the company says.

eCosCentric also supports KwikByte's earlier KB9200 and KB9201 evaluation boards.

KwikByte CEO Shelly Aamold said “The eCosPro Developer's Kit for the highly-integrated KB9202 provides all the tools for embedded development.”

Availability

The eCosPro Developer's Kit for KB9202 is available now. The KwikByte KB9202 is available direct from KwikByte, priced at $215.

A Linux development kit is available for the board from Viosoft.
