Embedded Data Management for IP Routers (iCD)

A new article in Integrated Communications Design (iCD) highlights the growing data management challenge of developing next-generation IP routing devices. Written by Andrei Gorine of McObject, the piece presents an in-depth view of embedded routing table management (RTM) software, and proposes that by replacing “homegrown” data management with commercial in-memory database systems (IMDSs) in this role, IP… routers can better evolve to keep pace with the Internet's growth. Gorine is principal architect for McObject's eXtremeDB, an IMDS available for embedded Linux.
