Firstlinux.com: I’ve installed Linux: What Next?
May 31, 2000 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 2 viewsSteve Emms of FirstLinux.com sent us this announcement about a new series of articles intended to help ease the transition of newcomers to Linux . . .
Following feedback from the Linux community, FirstLinux.com would like to announce five additional articles to the collection. They address the following areas:
- MP3 — listen to high quality music
- Games — have some fun with your computer
- Scientific — solve mathematical problems
- PIMs — organize your life with Linux
- CD Writing — the CD can solve your data storage requirements
Each of the articles indicate areas where you can make the most of Linux — some of the material may be a little technical and some Linux applications a little rough around the edges — but overall we think you will agree that there's a lot that can be achieved both in the home and in business. In each article we've tried to indicate what's available for free and what's available in the commercial sector. There's also a short glossary of technical terms included at the end.
“I've installed Linux: What Next?” can be found here. More articles in this series are planned. Suggestions are welcome and should be emailed to [email protected].
