Five from BEC — HW reviews, OpenEmbedded, SSH, x86 distros…

Five technical articles about Linux development tools, boards, and best practices have been published by BEC Systems, a small embedded systems consulting company specializing in technology selection, troubleshooting, development, and training. The articles were authored by BEC owner Cliff Brake (pictured).

Specific topics include:

  • Review of the CompuLab CM-x270 (pictured at right), a very small processor module based on an Intel PXA270 processor — Story
  • Introduction to the OpenEmbedded development environment, including “why to use it [and] how it works”– Story
  • Remote access for embedded systems behind a firewall, via SSH, with no VPN or special network setup — Story
