San Jose, CA — (press release excerpt) — NewMonics, Inc. today announced the appointment of David E. McCrabb as the company's Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining NewMonics, Mr. McCrabb served as President of Santa Cruz Operations (SCO), leading the company in its successful bid to become a top provider of Linux and UNIX operating systems for Intel hardware.

His helmsmanship followed a rise through corporate ranks first as Senior Vice President of Marketing and then as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Field Marketing — a role in which he helped grow revenues to a company record of $225 million. As CEO, Mr. McCrabb ultimately directed the sale of SCO's software division to Caldera International, a leading source for Linux and UNIX Internet solutions. Pursuant to the sale, Mr. McCrabb assumed the role of President and Chief Operating Officer at Caldera.

NewMonics is the creator of PERC, a Java-compliant virtual machine expressly made for complex embedded applications. PERC is the heart of NewMonics PERC for Intelligent Networks, a development and run-time platform that helps developers of network infrastructure devices address mounting industry pressures to create smarter network elements more efficiently.
