Free, commercial caching X proxy software updated

Nov 9, 2004 — by Henry Kingman — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

NoMachine has upgraded its caching remote access proxies, which aim to lighten up the X, RDP, and RFB (VNC) protocols by placing caches at both network ends. NX 1.4.0 features better security, support for more platforms, and bugfixes. Updates of several open source packages using nx technology are also available.

NoMachine first announced its NX products in September of 2003, at the same time appealing to the free software community to help improve nx technology, which underpins not only NoMachine's commercial remote access products, but several open source packages as well.
