Free webinar examines embedded development

The presentation, by EDC President and CEO John F. Andrews, will present highlights and insights from a just-completed survey of 500 embedded system developers, according to EDC.
“The expansion of technologies using embedded systems brings with it the rapid growth of embedded markets,” notes EDC. This, according to the firm, has led to to a broad range of alternatives for processors, form-factors, and operating systems, including “the growing move towards Linux.” Other developer concerns identified in the survey, according to EDC, include “a range of design and security issues.”
A few specific topics to be discussed by Andrews in his presentation reportedly include:
- Maximizing multi-core programming
- RTOS migrations and adoption
- IP issues and practices
- The maturing FPGA markets
- Tools that developers really need now
According to EDC, Andrews has over 25 years experience in market research and information technology related businesses. Prior to joining Evans Data, he served as CIO of CSX Corp., was president of CSX Technology, and held various senior management positions in information technology, finance, marketing, and field operations.
The free webinar will take place on Oct. 18 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. It will be moderated by Jerry Gipper, a former marketing executive with the Motorola Computer Group and currently the editorial director of OpenSystems Publishing.
