Speakers for the one-hour webinar include Brad Dixon, global field application engineering team leader for MontaVista, and Kaitlin Murphy, platform application engineer at Intel. Topics to be covered regarding the low-power, 45nm Intel Atom include:

  • CPUfreq
  • Ondemand governor
  • Wakeup mitigation with PowerTOP
  • Power balancing
  • Intel SpeedStep
  • C-states and p-states
  • Linux device drivers and power management

In conjunction with Intel's formal announcement of the Atom in early April, MontaVista announced the availability of a MontaVista Linux release that was said to be optimized for the platform. The release includes programmable power management for long battery life, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, and fast boot for speedy device start-up, says MontaVista.
