Aquafairy and NTT DoCoMo are co-developing “micro” fuel cells intended to help keep DoCoMo's FOMA 3G handsets running all day, despite increased use of numerous battery-sucking wireless services. The companies will showcase a prototype of the “world's smallest” two-watt recharger based on a polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) next week.

Some of DoCoMo's FOMA 3G handsets run Linux, including 902i devices from NEC and Panasonic, some of the first devices to use ARM11-based processors.
