iDragon SCX501 system-on-chip gains Embedded Linux support

The new support takes the form REDSonic's real-time Linux kernel known as REDICE-Linux, along with a software… tool-set for embedded system development which includes the RED-Builder system image creation tool and IDE. Together, this support allows system developers to configure, build, and download images to embedded targets based on Rise's iDragon SOC.
The iDragon SCX501 integrates a 66 MHz 64-bit x86 core, SDRAM controller, PC motherboard core logic, SVGA 2D CRT graphics controller, video input port, TV output port, IDE drive interface, PCI and ISA bus expansion, and power management functions. In short, it provides a full consumer-orientated PC compatible subsystem on a single device. The device is packaged in a 388 Plastic Ball Grid Array (PBGA).
