Intel’s Linux-based Dot.Station adds RealPlayer

Seattle, WA — (press release excerpt) — RealNetworks Inc. announced that its RealPlayer multimedia playing software will be deployed in Intel's Linux-based Dot.Station Web appliance. The Dot.Station is designed to let consumers take advantage of the most popular PC functions from the comfort of their favorite places around the home. The device is typically offered by Internet service providers that want to offer a simple-to-use appliance, new services, and a real Internet experience to households that are not online today. In addition to Internet access, the Linux-based Dot.Station features email, a built-in telephone, and rich digital media download and playback capability using RealNetworks' RealPlayer.
