Korean conference on Embedded Linux and Wireless Internet

Seoul, KOREA — (press release) — PalmPalm Technology today announced a forum on the topic, “Integration of Embedded Linux and Wireless Internet”, which will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2000 (from 14:00-18:00) at the Conference Room of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. The goal of the forum is to define the relationship between wireless Internet and Embedded Linux, share information on technologies and the market, and provide an opportunity for discussion.

The forum will be beneficial to developers of wireless Internet and application software related to Embedded Linux, as well as to developers of PDA and wireless Internet Appliances. Detailed technical presentations will provide in-depth analysis of the benefits obtained by incorporating Embedded Linux into wireless Internet devices. The talks will be given by five industry experts, including: James H. Suh and Dr. Minsuk Lee, of PalmPalm Technology; Lee Ji-su, of Mizi Research; Hogne Tjemsland, of Trolltech; and Lars Boilesen, of Opera Software. Topics will include: the current status and future prospects of Embedded Linux; examples of applying Embedded Linux to smart phones; and presentations about technology related to embedded GUI (Graphic User Interface), browser, etc.

The forum is sponsored by PalmPalm Technology, and cosponsored by the National Assembly Cyber Information Value-added Society, Wireless Internet Forum, and Mizi Research.
