Lineo offers a bridge to Linux from VxWorks, pSOS

Jun 27, 2000 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

Lineo has announced compatibility libraries, code-named “Golden Gate”, that offer developers an easy way to convert VxWorks and pSOS programs into programs that can be hosted instead on Lineo's Embedix Linux operating system.

Lineo CEO Bryan Sparks said “as RTOS companies' strategies change and evolve, many OEMs are concerned about preserving the investments they have
made in developing custom applications around these OSs. Lineo is providing alternatives for customers that don't want to start over to build a new code base for the same application and want to take advantage of Linux.”

Portions of these libraries are currently available from Lineo. For information on Lineo Golden Gate pricing, please contact Lineo at [email protected].
