Lineo uSolutions launches embedded Linux for consumer devices

Lineo uSolutions (Tokyo) announced a new embedded Linux product specifically aimed at consumer electronics applications. The new distribution, called uLinux Consumer Electronics Edition (“CE Edition”), will be offered in the form of CE Edition board support packages (BSPs) along with ELITE, a cross development environment. Key features of CE Edition include small resource footprint, fast boot, power management, hard real-time performance, and enhanced memory management, the company said.

Lineo said it will demonstrate uLinux Consumer Electronics Edition, along with its ELITE development environment and other associated tools, next month at the Embedded Systems Expo & Conference in Tokyo.
