The three presentations, which are now available for viewing and download by LinuxDevices.com readers, feature fascinating data on the mobile phone market and Linux's place therein, and outline various ways to maximize Linux's mobile phone success. For example, one of Schillings' slides dramatically shows Linux's explosion from five to 22 percent of the smartphone market, between 2004 and 2005. Meanwhile, one of Weinberg's slides conservatively estimates that Linux will claim a quarter of the smartphone market by 2010. And, Cook's presentation offers a tantalizing sneak peek into PalmSource's Linux-based mobile phone UI, among other hints of what's in the cooker.
