Companies must base at least one product on Eclipse, and contribute $5,000, in order to qualify for membership.

MontaVista recently announced MontaVista DevRocket 1.0, an integrated and graphical development environment (IDE) based on Eclipse technology. DevRocket provides a common look-and-feel across development host platforms including Linux, Solaris, and Windows.

MontaVista will demonstrate the new DevRocket IDE at the company's booth at the EclipseCon show this week. MontaVista is a Silver sponsor of EclipseCon. “Eclipse creates an industry-standard platform for development, which is open source and vendor-neutral. It allows integration of disparate tools that have not necessarily been tested together,” said Skip McGaughey, spokesperson for Eclipse. “With its strong commitment to open source and expertise as a provider of development platforms and tools for embedded Linux applications, MontaVista Software will continue to be a great asset to the Eclipse community.”
