MontaVista Software expands distribution in China

(BMR), a Chinese distributor of embedded software, have joined forces to distribute and support MontaVista Software products in the People's Republic of China.
Under terms of the agreement, BMR will market and distribute the full range of MontaVista products, including MontaVista Linux, MontaVista High Availability Framework, VisualAge Micro Edition for MontaVista Linux, Qt/Embedded for MontaVista Linux, and MontaVista Graphics, in China. The company will also provide front line technical support for local software developers.
“Linux is rapidly gaining popularity in China and MontaVista Software is expanding its channel capacity to take advantage of this opportunity,” said Raymond Mak, vice president of Asia Pacific sales for MontaVista. “We believe that China will become one of the largest markets for MontaVista Software in the near future.”
BMR has more than six years of technical expertise in embedded RTOSes, network protocol, and PowerPC and ARM hardware design, as well as BSP (LSP) porting and device driver development for Chinese customers. BMR targets telecommunication carrier-class equipment, Internet appliances and industry/military communication control systems. BMR has its headquarters and an engineering center in Beijing, and sales offices in Shanghai and Shenzhen.
