EmbWise Technologies says it has ported its SD/MMC/SDIO support software to MontaVista's Mobiliux 4.0 software platform. The company's SDIOWorx stack currently supports Intel's PXA270 applications processor, and includes an SDIO bus driver, plus drivers for the chip's SDIO host controller, SD/MMC memory cards, SDIO-Bluetooth (Type A), and SDIO-WiFi, according to the company.

EmbWise launched SDIOWorx in March, describing the product as a toolkit meant to give developers a head start implementing SD/SDIO support for mobile devices, and their chips and peripherals, running on Linux 2.4 or 2.6 kernels. Planned areas of support include DVB, GPS, Zigbee, WLAN, and RFID peripherals, the company said. WiFi support was added in September. The company also recently introduced support for Samsung's S3C2410, a mobile device applications processor based on an ARM920 core.

EmbWise, a member of MontaVista's Mobilinux Open Framework initiative, had previously offered support for MontaVista's CEE 3.1 Linux OS version on the Intel PXA270 applications processor.
