Parascript's Pen&Internet division (Sunnyvale, CA) today announced immediate availability of a next generation handwriting recognition technology which accurately recognizes unrestricted English handwriting in any style. Users of riteScript need not learn artificial alphabets, change writing habits, write on a restrictive baseline, or teach riteScript the nuances of their personal handwriting. They simply write normally and see their handwriting converted into text.

An online interactive demonstration of riteScript, which automatically converts writing based on mouse movements into text, is available here.

Using XML and Java technology, riteScript supports Linux and other popular operating systems used in desktop and embedded systems. Deployed as a web services component, it reports advanced forms recognition and unified note-taking for mobile devices, desktops, laptops, webpads, and electronic whiteboards.

Parascript recently launched a multi-platform email software that allows users to send handwritten emails. A Beta Program is available.
