New Xbox port weds open source, shared source software
Jan 8, 2004 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsWindowsForDevices has published an extensive interview with Artifex, the 21-year-old programmer who founded the xbox-windows project to port Windows CE to the Xbox. The project combines open source and shared source development based on an interesting marriage of GPL/LGPL software (borrowed from the xbox-linux port)… along with Microsoft's WinCE.
The interview sheds light on the project's origins, goals, current status, and plans for the future. Artifex invites developers to participate, and suggests an additional project of a Windows XP Embedded port to the Xbox.
