Half Moon Bay, CA — (press release excerpt) — OnCore Systems Corp. announced the OnCore Windows Cross Development Suite, a C/C++ development environment that allows developers working on systems running Microsoft's Windows 2000 or Windows NT 4.0 to develop and debug embedded applications for PowerPC and x86 targets based on the OnCore OS and OnCore's href=”/products/PD3465769205.html” target=”_blank”>real-time Linux solutions.

“Linux is making rapid gains in the embedded space,” noted OnCore CEO Chip Downing, “but many developers prefer or are required by company IT policies to use Windows for their desktop systems. This product enables our developers the flexibility to choose either a Linux or Windows work environment,” continued Downing.

Available for immediate use, the Windows Cross Development Suite consists of GNU compiler and cross compiler, linkers, GDB source level debugger with Data Display Debugger (DDD), a GUI-based front-end, and other related utilities. The entire suite of tools is optimized to support the OnCore OS and real-time Linux solutions.
