Sep 24, 1999 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsHERNDON, VA — (September 24, 1999) The RealTimeLinux.Org Board of Directors is pleased to announce the activation of realtimelinux.org, created to encourage open dialog and cooperation between each of the real-time Linux solutions for industrial and embedded time-critical applications such as: process control, data acquisition, and simulation.
Realtimelinux.org's goals are to:
– Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information and open-source software related to all implementations of real-time Linux.
– Maintain an impartial forum for professional standards of review,debate, and recommendation for the direction of future real-time Linux implementations.
– Facilitate and promote the development, use and deployment of real-time Linux and associated open source software in academic,industrial and research applications.
– Facilitate access (by URL reference) to both open-source and proprietary software and hardware deemed relevant to deployment of real-time Linux.
Submissions, feedback, sponsors, and nominations of additional board members are encouraged.
