Red Hat unveils tools, firmware, RTOS for Intel I/O processor

In addition to providing the development suite for the Intel IOP321 I/O processor, Red Hat will continue to work closely with Intel to provide GNUPro Tools for additional Intel XScale technology-based processors.
Red Hat's complete suite of open source embedded tools, RTOS and firmware will be available with Intel IOP321 I/O processor storage development platforms and includes the following features:
- RedBoot, a comprehensive embedded boot and debug firmware solution
- Fully featured eCos RTOS developers kit, providing open source, royalty free RTOS and associated libraries
- Device support for onboard peripherals including gigabit Ethernet and full IPv4 protocol stack
- GNUPro compiler toolsuite, including C, C++, assembler and associated tools.
