Rogue Wave releases C++ Toolkit for Linux
Apr 22, 2000 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 24 viewsBoulder, CO — (press release) — Rogue Wave Software has announced the release of its comprehensive collection of C++ components for Linux. The C++ Toolkit for Linux enables developers to easily create applications on the Linux platform.
This special edition Linux-Only CD includes ports of Rogue Wave's most popular cross-platform C++ products to the Linux platform, including Standard C++ Library, Tools.h++, Threads.h++, Tools.h++ Professional, DBTools.h++ and Money.h++. This new offering provides Linux developers with basic data structures, threading classes, classes for accessing relational databases and classes for business analysis and currency conversion.
“In order for Linux to cross over from a grassroots effort to gaining widespread corporate adoption there must be applications built on the platform,” states Tracy Corbo of The Hurwitz Group. “Those applications cannot be built without application development tools targeted specifically at the Linux market. Rogue Wave's Linux Toolkit provides a much-needed set of components for C++ developers to tackle this emerging market opportunity.”
Rogue Wave's robust C++ libraries for Linux fill a hole in the Linux development space. Market research shows that there is substantial dissatisfaction in the Linux community with the previously available development tools. Rogue Wave is committed to supporting the Linux community and these tools will significantly enhance and further the viability of the Linux operating system.
Pricing and Availability
Standard C++ Library, Tools.h++, Threads.h++, Tools.h++ Professional, DBTools.h++ and Money.h++ are all available on the Linux platform today. Pricing starts at $545 and includes a license and one year of Silver Technical Support and product updates.
