Software analysis tool gains support for kernel 2.6
Feb 13, 2004 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsLynuxWorks has worked with MetroWerks to develop a driver that enables MetroWerks's CodeTEST Software Analysis Tools, Version 4, to be used with 2.6-series kernels. The companies have jointly certified CodeTEST with the 2.6-based LynuxWorks BlueCat Linux, and LynuxWorks is recommending CodeTEST to customers who need a… software verification toolset.
MetroWerks describes CodeTEST as a “Logic analyzer for software engineers” that can be used in Native, Software In-Ciruit (SWIC), or Hardware In-Circuit (HWIC) modes.
“Embedded software developers who require code visibility and precise analysis of embedded systems in operation can use CodeTEST to easily view execution history of their systems at the source or RTOS level,” according to LynuxWorks. “The CodeTEST instrumentation technology provides visibility into software execution in real-time without interrupting the system.”
Bob Morris, vice president of sales and marketing, LynuxWorks, said, “Our collaborative effort with Metrowerks helps ensure code quality and product performance and deliver the visibility, reliability, and credibility required in today's complex business-critical embedded systems.”
CodeTEST also supports LynuxWorks's proprietary RTOS, LynxOS.
