TimeSys will host two free Webinars about its LinuxLink online service for embedded developers later this month. A PowerPC version is scheduled for Jan. 24th, while an x86 version is set for Jan. 30th. The x86 Webinar includes a 14-day trial subscription to LinuxLink services for x86.

According to TimeSys, the Webinar will guide attendees through the process of using LinuxLink to create a custom Linux platform for an embedded development project targeting a PowerPC or x86 processor, including:

  • Patching and compiling the Linux kernel
  • Assembling a root filesystem (RFS) from pre-compiled binary RPMs
  • Cross-compiling a source RPM and adding it to an RFS
  • Adding an autoconf project to an RFS
  • Setting up a cross-development environment
  • Working in a native development environment
  • Taking full advantage of a LinuxLink subscription

Attendees of the x86 version of the Webinar will receive 14 days of access to the LinuxLink subscription for x86, an x86 reference Linux distribution, and access to TimeSys's Developer Exchange online resource center and embedded developer community.
