Yet another Zaurus SL-C760 review
Oct 6, 2003 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsSharp's remarkable SL-C760 embedded Linux PDA has been reviewed yet again, this time by Linux Journal, making it possibly the most-reviewed product not yet released in the United States, ever.
Previously, we have reported on SL-C760 and SL-C750 reviews from InfoSync World, BrightHand, BargainPDA, and NVMAX, not to mention a story at The Register rumoring distribution of a U.S. model.
The LJ article agreed with the other reviewers on most points. It praises the screen and the OpenPDA suite from Metrowerks, which it finds superior to the version of Embedix found on earlier Sharp Zaurus releases. It likes the form factor and the keyboard and pivoting screen. However, due to quibbles with the device's internationalization, the author recommends waiting for an offical English-language release from Sharp before shelling out close to $800 for the device.
