Yopy 3700 review: nice PDA, too bad about the software
Dec 11, 2003 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsA Linux Journal review of the G.Mate Yopy Linux PDA praises the keyboard and overall design, but criticizes the choice of GTK/X, which limits the amount of commercial and free PDA software available in comparison with Sharp's Qtopia-based Zaurus PDAs.
The author also criticizes the large size of the 3700 model Yopy, which has grown due to the addition of a Compact Flash slot. The 3500 model, which lacks a CF slot, is a better option for those who can do without CF, the author suggests.
The Yopy is not as widely available as the Sharp Zaurus, but can be purchased directly from Yopy.com or from SDG Systems.
