Ziff Davis Media Inc, the leading special interest technology media company, today announced it has completed the acquisition of DeviceForge LLC, a privately-held vertical online b-to-b publishing company headquartered in Palo Alto, California. The transaction enables Ziff Davis to expand its already extensive portfolio of vertical product and information websites to its enterprise-level technology customers.

The DeviceForge sites are among the leading content destinations for application developers, business executives, and technologists who create the future of consumer and business electronics products, which increasingly rely on embedded software such as Linux or Windows. DeviceForge has also built strong relationships with the device hardware and software technology community and many of DeviceForge's customers are leading enterprise-level technology companies including Microsoft, IBM, and Intel.

Under terms of the agreement Ziff Davis Media will purchase several vertical technology and information websites including LinuxDevices.com, WindowsForDevices.com, DeviceForge.com, and DesktopLinux.com. With this suite of popular, news driven websites, Ziff Davis Media will be able to track the latest software and hardware technologies, products, trends, and issues relating to the development of next-generation intelligent, connected devices and embedded systems. Topics covered include embedded software, chips, boards, and systems, as well as applicable interface technologies and protocols.
