Large US auto parts chain moves to Linux-based POS terminals

HP touts $2.5B Linux-related revenues, LTSP-based clients

HP has announced Linux-related revenues exceeding $2.5 billion dollars for 2003. The company also announced that its diskless thin-client workstations support LTSP (Linux Terminal Server Project) software, that several notebooks and workstatins are certified to run SuSE Linux, and that high-availability clustering software is now available for 64-bit systems. Novell offers Linux indemnification “upgrade”

Updated commercial SSH daemon supports embedded Linux

Interpeak AB has released the second generation of its Secure Shell (SSH) daemon, which it claims has a smaller footprint and more flexible shell integration model than the free alternatives on Linux. The release supports IPv6, Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), and Remote Authentication via RADIUS, and is fully supported by Interpeak. (more…)
