An embedded 32-bit RISC Linux tools specialist based in Cambell, Calif. has signed up a strategic partner and distributor in Japan. Intel, IBM, NTT DoCoMo roll “Trusted Mobile Platform” spec

Report finds handheld device market in continued decline

The worldwide market for handheld devices saw its third successive quarter of year-over-year decline in the third quarter of 2004, according to a new report released by IDC. Specifically, handheld device shipments decreased 4.6 percent sequentially and 8.7 percent year over year in the third quarter to 2.1 million units. (more…)

Linux-based portable multimedia player launches in UK

Wireless gateway ref design does VoIP, runs Linux

Micrel, LSI Logic, and Arcturus Networks have teamed up on a reference design for wireless VoIP routers based on embedded Linux.
