ADI Engineering is shipping an Intel iXP425-based OEM platform and reference design for network security devices. Diamondback is packaged in a compact, ready-to-use enclosure and is priced at $150 in OEM quantities. It comes with “GPL Linux” and also supports MontaVista Linux. A development kit version is also available which comes with JTAG support, toolchain, Linux BSP, and documentation.

In its baseline configuration, Diamondback includes an Intel IXP425 processor clocked at 266MHz, 4MB of Flash, 16MB of SDRAM, dual 10/100 Ethernet ports, an internally accessible RS-232 serial port, a wall or desk mountable chassis/enclosure, power supply, and certifications.

Other CPU, memory, and enclosure options are also available, along with a second RS-232 port with rear-panel DB-9, extended temperature range (-40 to +85 deg. C), and Instant802 SMAP development and customizations environment.

Also available is a “development kit” model featuring a 533MHz processor, up to 32MB of Flash, 128MB of SDRAM, 802.3af PoE (power-over-Ethernet), two 33MHz or 66MHz Mini-PCI slots, and a JTAG interface. This version also includes an embedded Linux BSP and evaluation toolchain, POST (power on self test) code from Kozio, RedBoot bootloader, cables, documentation, and 60 days of technical support. The development kit version is available for $899 in single quantities.
