32-bit RISC Linux tools specialist adds partner in Japan

ELT, Japan, a solutions provider focused on embedded Linux development environments, will distribute and market Viosoft's Arriba suite of embedded Linux tools.
Viosoft's Arriba toolsuite is said to include:
- An integrated development environment (IDE)
- A source level, symbolic remote debugger
- An OS-aware remote debug agent (patent pending)
- A complete embedded Linux kernel run-time
- A GNU tool chain for the respective platforms
The suite hosts on Linux or Windows, and supports “a wide range” of connectivity options, target architedctures, and Linux kernel versions, Viosoft says.
ELT was founded in May of 2001. In addition to development tools, it markets system integration services including custom hardware design/development and boot code, kernel, middleware, and application development services.
Viosoft CEO Hieu Tran noted, “Adoption of embedded Linux is reaching critical mass in Japan, and we look forward to working with ELT to deliver cutting edge development tools that are customized specifically to the local needs.”
ELT CEO Hideto Sakamoto added, “Arriba Embedded Linux Edition (ELE) will be a major product line for ELT. We are focusing on promoting Arriba ELE for large scale development projects such as next generation Linux mobile phones, home servers, and Digital Television systems.”
