An embedded Linux development services specialist in San Jose, Calif. has partnered with an embedded Linux software supplier in Beijing, China. Embedded Software Group (ESG) and MiniGUI graphics stack supplier Beijing Feynman Software Technology say their partnership will help them better serve customers in China. (more…)

Wind River aims “trade-in” at rival MontaVista’s clients

Anomalous embedded Linux survey results reported, retorted

“Interest in embedded Linux remains low,” proclaims an EE Times story based on a recent survey. Seventeen percent of respondents report using Linux, while two-thirds lack Linux interest or implementation plans, the publication says. The results contradict similar surveys, but a lack of available detail frustrates external analysis. (more…)

Embedded VM adds Java 5, supports Linux

Trolltech enhances CE Linux stacks, partners with Wind River

Trolltech has launched a consumer electronics (CE) version of its Qtopia graphics framework and application stack for Linux. “Qtopia Platform” targets phones, media players, and set-top boxes, and will be integrated with Wind River's CE Linux distribution, Trolltech says. Low-cost all-in-one remote access server runs Linux

Opengear is shipping an inexpensive, Linux-powered, remote access server aimed at providing secure access to “the entire IT infrastructure” at small satellite offices. AMCC readies low-cost, Linux-capable industrial SoC

AMCC will sample a low-power, high-performance SoC (system-on-chip) targeting networked industrial computing applications, in Q4 of this year.
