Agenda VR3: Linux support out of the box, a shell in your hand

Agenda Computing has decided to step into the Linux arena with a handheld that even comes with a text-based shell. The Agenda VR3 is small and powerful, and it will work with your Linux desktop out of the box. From the article at AllLinuxDevices.com . . .

“End users running Linux will likely also appreciate the fact that the device will arrive to market Linux-ready: Agenda Computing plans to ship… both Linux and Windows versions of the Quicksync software used to transfer data between the VR3 and a desktop machine, making it one of the first handheld devices to provide Linux connectivity out of the box.”

“Despite its native Linux support, though, the Agenda will also support Windows users by offering the ability to sync data with Microsoft Outlook, making it an interesting “bridge” device for users of both operating systems.”

“The device itself has some promising specifications. It tends to cleave more toward the Palm's basic approach to hardware, eschewing the full-color, multi-media-on-a-palmtop approach of devices like the Yopy or iPAQ.”
