The third annual ARM Developers' Conference will be held in Santa Clara, Calif. Oct. 3 through 5. The conference promises over 120 technical sessions, along with an informative expo that will showcase third-party vendors' products such as ARM-based SoCs (system-on-chip processors), embedded boards, and both hardware and software development tools, according to show organizers.

The conference's technical sessions are organized in 12 tracks, covering:

• Operating System Techniques
• Audio and multimedia processing
• Power management
• Bus and system integration
• FPGA vs. ASIC
• Memory design
• Microcontroller design
• Multicore challenges
• Virtualization
• Half-day hands-on labs

Of particular interest to embedded Linux developers are sessions on developing and debugging applications targeting Linux on ARM processors; gaining multicore power advantage using ARM11 MPCore and Linux; and a hardware virtualization platform that helps develop mainstream, Linux-based mobile phones.

Around 60 exhibitors are currently registered for the 2-day expo which will take place Oct. 4 and 5.
